Review of The grief of Stones by Katherine Addison

A classic British detective tale…but with goblins and elves instead of humans.

This book is a must read if you like: Classic British detective tales, cozy fantasy, unique characters

I haven’t read the first book in a long time, but this book hit differently. I love the constant action while still maintaining a cozy feel thanks to the main character. A week in the life of The Witness For The Dead…until it becomes catastrophic. He solves crimes, gets an unexpected apprentice, and has his whole identity riped from him. Just a usual day.

Content Warnings: Death, discussions of minor victims of pornography, murder

I loved this book. So cute and gripping. The main character is so endearing I couldn’t tear myself away.

The narrator’s performance really made the experience for me. So unique and perfect for the role.
